October - What's happening in the market?
“Buyers’ hesitancy to enter the market, paired with new listing activity on the part of sellers that is in line with historical averages, has allowed inventory to accumulate for a number of months and has moved the market firmly into balanced conditions."
October 23rd - the Bank of Canada’s decision to reduce the policy rate today by another .50 percentage point has inspired confidence in some buyers.
Sales are up in the condo and townhome subsets in Whistler for the month of September verses September of last year. Detached home sales are down just slightly.
Some buyers are hesitant to make a move before the results of the US Election November 5th. Historically, US searches for CDN real estate spike around election time. It will be interesting to see how things shake out!
